How do I change color after hyperlinking?

I started with an earlier version of powerpoint. I have programs with
hyperlinks that are designed to change color after hyperlinking so the
instructor knows that topic has been covered. Unfortunately this is not
working with power point 2003. When I hyperling to another program and
return, no color change. But now when I go into edit mode the color changes.
I am using Format > Slide Design, then in slide design I change to Color
Shemes tab then turn on Edit Color Schemes at the bottom. In the dialog box
I change the color to Accent and followed Hyperlink. This woks in previous
ppt versions but not 2003.
Any ideas.

It's the last 2 colors in the color scheme

Accent and hyperlink = color 7
Accent and followed hyperlink = color 8
