A year or so ago I replace the "C" scsi boot drive on my XP Pro system to a
large IDE. Think I used easy migrate or maybe true image and rebooted, but
the net effect what the from then on my boot drive was "D".

There are about two programs that dont work right. I am now using some
external drives the "C" comes and goes. I got tired of this and want to
use "C" for the windows disk.

Found this program here
http://www.codeproject.com/system/ChangeDriveName.asp

Is this o.k. to use? Any other way to do it? What about all the software I
installed since I got rid of that scsi? I dont want to fix one or two
programs and have a dozen others quit working.

...thanks..

Open file transfer wizard in the xp cd,set computer as old, select the
files,folders,
settings, etc for it to save, save the data in a new folder you created.Once
the data
is finished, move the folder to a cd.When youre ready for new xp
install,unplug all
drives but the cdrom and the hd for xp,boot to xp cd,select install xp.
