how do i enable the usb controller in the bios? (windows
xp)

BIOS and Windows XP.. Nothing in common.

BIOS is part of your motherboard.. It doesn't really care what your OS is.

Windows XP might care if your BIOS has compatable features, but it cannot
edit it.

Common methods to get into the BIOS are F1, F2, DEL. When you start up your
computer you should see something that says "Press XXX to enter system
setup" or something similar. Press that key.. then.

Thanks for the info. However when I went into the bios,
a setting which I was told to enable (usb controller) was
listed.
