change administrator

I purchased compac with windows 2000 from friend who is
now deceased. How do I change administrator to allow me to
install printer. Keep getting error message that I am not
authorized. Kind of difficult to get info from previous
owner.

Need to remove his as administrator so I have full
authorization. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi, Colleen
there are tools, with which you can reset admin passwords
I´m getting a copy of a cd with theese tools tomorrow, I can
give you a copy of the admin tool If it works how my co-worker
thinks it does. Let me now if you still need it.
