Change AD Contact to Domain Account

Good Day All,

I have about 1000 contacts (Referencing Unix Mail Accounts) in active
directory. What I am hoping to do, is change these contacts to Active
Directoy
Domain accounts. Has anyone heard of this or know of the possability of
doing this?
