Championship Manager 3 problem

My eldest son wanted to play a football management game & the only one
we had was the above. Installed okay & runs set up but when trying to
play game just says not enough memory to load game & tells us to close
some programs & try again. Have read up on the problem & found that
there is a problem if more than 512Mb memory is installed, we have 1GB
on the main system & 512MB on the 2nd system so will try the 2nd system
as well. I know we ran this game under XP but with only 128MB so does
anyone know how we get round the memory problem on the main system or
would we be better of getting CM4 instead.
