Bad news - Alot of people have their browser window sized less than this,
regardless of their monitor resolution. It becomes difficult to read when
it's too wide. imagine if a newspaper article spread across an entire page
instead of being in columns.
So.....
Your page won't center for alot of people anyway.

The point I was making is that even with higher res monitors, people
probably don't have their windows full-screen.
I have a 19" monitor at 1600x1200 res. I rarely have any windows much bigger
than 800x600, except VisualStudio .net.
The human eye just can't travel those distances comfortably while reading.
