cells blank despite having data in them?

Does anyone know why cells are appearing as blank despite having data in
them? The data will only be visibile when i select the cells

I could imagine your font format being white. This makes it invisible unless
you select it. No idea if setting your font to black doesn't solve this.

Is the data visible in the formulabar, but not in the cell?

It could it be a custom format.
It could it be conditional formatting.

Do you use multiple monitors?
