Cell references in formulas

Greetings,
Normally when I insert rows above a formula, the cell reference in the given
formula will change based on the inserted rows. However I have a particular
worksheet where this doesn't happen and I have to manually change the cell
reference in the formulas to include the new inserted cells. Do you have any
idea why this is so and what I can do about it? Thank you.

If the inserted row is right above a range which is used in your formula,
Excel doesn't know if it has to be included in the range.
One technique often used is to make the range one row higher than needed,
but empty (check the effect on your formulas!); insertion are then done
after that first row and the range in the formula will be extended.
