Cell Protection w/ Excel 2002

Guest

I'm having an issue with not having all the cells that I select having the
cell protection turned on/off when I select the option.

That is....

I will select all the cell in a worksheet and then lock all the cells.
Then I will select a specific range and unlock these.

I'm noticing that some of my locked cells are not locked.

No macros or anything else is running.

Any suggetions as to why this is?????

Thanks!!

Are you protecting the worksheet after you lock/unlock cells?

Tool>Protection>Protect Sheet.

Cell protection will not enable until sheet is protected.

Yes, I've set it all up how I want it. Turn on the worksheet protection but I
still have some cells that are not protected when they should be.

What version of Excel are you running?

In 2002 and 2003 there are quite a few exception options when protecting the
sheet.

You may have the cells protected but allow formatting or row/column insertion.

From here it's hard to tell what's happening.
