Cell properties greyed out - unable to change cell

Hi - using FP2003 on windows XP pro, creating site on local machine to be
uploaded at a later stage.

I am trying to change the colour in a certain cell but am unable to do so as
the cell properties is greyed out in the cell fomatting pane. Also, when i
right click in the cell, the cell properties option is not there. I am able
to add pictures, text etc but not able to configure the cell with borders,
colours etc
Does anyone know why this is happening?

If you have a theme applied, then it is control the table and cell properties, and you will have to
modify the theme.

I tried to go onto themes -> customize themes but could not find anywhere
there that is relevant to cells, tables etc. The only thing I am able to
change there is text, headings, bullet point etc.?

I don't work with themes, so you will have to wait for someone else to reply with instructions.
