CDRW In New XP Installation

I am one of the many Post SP1 installation XP users unable to use my CDRW.
I tried the CDRW on another computer which has a completely new XP
installation with SP1 aswell. There has been no third party burning software
any where near the PC and still a CDRW will not work. Does this not prove
that the problem has nothing to do with third part software corruption but a
lot to do with SP1?

You are able to read the data when you insert a CD into your CDRW correct?
Is burning enabled? (Right click | Properties -> go to the Recording tab
and make sure 'Enable CD recording on this drive' is checked.
