CD writing - My Computer view

OK, this may sound crazy....I'm writing to a read-only CD
and each time I add new files & folders to the CD, the XP
view in My Computer D:\ "sections out" the new files &
folders and puts them in alphabetic order. For example, I
have C for Collectibles in it's own section, the next
section is G for Gallery, then M for Money, etc.

Is anyone else seeing this? Does anyone know why XP
feels the needs to section out and alphabetize my
files 'n folders beyond the regular choices for View?

My problem is this: when I try to read this CD on a Win
98 machine, I can't see any of my new files - the ones XP
has in sections. Weird! Help!!

Try using a better program to burn cd's. Nero is pretty good and cd's seem
to work on most cd-rom drives and operating systems.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you have View> Arrange Icons By..> Show
in Groups (checked). Click to remove the check and the file management
tool will readjust its display of your CD contents.

Hi Kate,

Go to View/Arrange Icons by and uncheck Show in Groups.
