CD Writing Error

When I try to backup my files to CD I get the error near the end of the
backup saying:

Cannot Complete the CD Writing Wizard.

"There was an error in the writing process. The disc you have attempted to
write may no longer be usable.

I have tried new cds many times and same error.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

It could be possible that the backup wizard thinks that u are writing to
DVDs, and it has specified file sizes too large for cds.

It depends on what you mean by "backing up" the files.

If you are using NTBackup and attempt to write to the CDR(W) drive,
you'll get this sort of error as NTBackup can't write directly to the
drive unless you've installed third-part packet-writing utlities.

If you have installed packet-writing, you may get this error in
NTBackup if you overflow the disc. NTBackup can't span CDs during a
backup.

The inbuilt CD writing system is not very tolerant. Some drives it just
will not work with at all; some it gives this sort of error. When it
does not play, best to cut losses and get a third party package
