CD won't open when inserted

I have tried to open numerous types of cd's (software and music) on my
computer-none will open. I got lucky and after opening and closing the tray,
a few of the software cd's would finally open. The music cd's will not open
at all. I just had Windows re-installed so maybe something wasn't
reinstalled to open music cd's? I have also tried going to 'my computer' and
it won't open from there either.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Your CD drive might be marginal or defective. I would replace it - they
don't cost much.

Key / Start / Help / AUTOPLAY
and follow the instructions. (We assume "music CDs
will not open" above mans "music CDs do not play"
automatically.) The other route is to start your preferred
player (e.g. WMP, e.g. RealPlay) and / Browse to the CD.

Thank you-I have tried both these routes and no success. I have the autoplay
set to import songs to itunes and that doesn't work. I have also tried to
browse for the songs on itunes and it doesn't recognize that there is a CD
inserted.
