Most modern cd roms now have a small hole on the front
facia of the unit - this is to allow the drawer to be
opened - I think it is designed for the option of opening
the drawer if you have the cd-rom out of the machine and
not plugged in, but you should be able to get it to open
if you can insert a small watchmakers screwdriver in the
hole (preferably a cross-head type)
Unless you get any comments to the contrary try this
method.
