I am trying to load new software and I get the message D:\
is not accessible, incorrect function. However, I was
just able to read from the d drive to burn a new CD. So
why would it now say that d drive is not accessible?

The real question is: Why is it interrogating the drive?

You haven't told us what your D drive is, except that I could assume from the subject of your post that it could be a CD-ROM drive.

If so, try having a functional CD disc in the drive during the installation process, maybe that will satisfy its query.

Also, if you had stated the name of the application you're trying to install, you may get a response from someone that's had a similar problem and solved it.

If still no joy, try a new posting with more details.
