CD-rom/writer access suddenly fails

Hi,

Since 2 days CD-rom and DVD-writer crash the pc when:
- browsing a CD with explorer.
- program auto starts from CD.
Burning CD's/DVD's (NEC ND2510) fails.
Nero just exits without message.

Event logbook reports events:
- 116 problem with autostart
- 7 / 9 / 11 problem with SCSI
(no SCSI present but RAID0 controller is listed as SCSI-controller,
holds bootable stripe array with Win2K + SP4)

I checked out MS KB but at no avail.
Any clues ???

Check Event Viewer for errors. When you view the logged events in Event
Viewer in the upper right corner, third button down is a copy to clipboard,
then you can paste in the body of a reply message.

Please do so for each of the different System Log events since last boot so
we can see all of the event detail.

Check Device Manager for error codes and or non-starting devices.
