CD-Rom locks computer

When I put a CD-ROM in unit (LITE-ON LTR-52246S 52x/24x/52x -- Roxio 7
write software) system locks without reading -- I can reboot and then cd
as well as everything works fine -- but same thing over again with new
cd. Any ideas anyone?
 
If you describing a Blank CD disk - have you checked your
AutoPlay handler for A blank CD. Perhaps the default action
is causing the problem. You can check this by opening My
Computer, Right Click your Optical Drive Letter, Take the
Properties action, then AutoPlay (TAB) and scroll the media
type to Blank CD.
