Is it safe to clen your CD ROM lense with a QTip and alcohol? Or would anyone

Thanks

Purchase a CD cleaning disk. The dick has a small brush for cleaning the
lens. The cleaning disks are low cost and widely available.
If additional cleaning is needed {rare}, then the cleaning should be done by
some qualified to disassemble the drive.

Buy a new drive. I bought an LG 52x two days ago for $AU25 (=~$US18.00)

To actually answer your question..... yes it is safe. Just be sure to
use 91% Isopropyl alcohol and don't do too much rubbing, especially with
a dry Q-tip.
