Why does Vista keep opening and closing my drive?

Hi Fatman,

Not sure. Are you doing anything when this happens? You can turn off
AutoPlay to usually stop this. See this tutorial for how.

The frequency of opening and closing has decreased but is still happening. Often, when I am not even at the computer.

no nothing in the drive

Fatman,

Do you have anything in the drive when this happens? If so, remove it
and see if it helps.

no change. It will happen repeatedly for a short time then only occaisionally.
