Cd-Rom Drive??

S

Stena

Just got a new computer, Acer with windows vista.. however when I put a cd in
or a dvd in to play nothing happens.. I've checked to see that it is set up
to automatically play or download or such (in the control panel).. this does
not seem to work. Anything I have forgotten to do, or need to redo? This
computer is brand new, not even a week old! Anyone out there who can help
out, this would be great.. Like I said, it won't download, play or even show
that I've got a cd-rom drive.. Why is this?

Don't post the same question in multiple newsgroups!
I answered you in vista.general

Take the computer back under Warranty.

Hi, Stena.

On those rare occasions when you MUST post the same question to multiple
newsgroups, please crosspost, rather than multi-post. That is, instead of
sending the same message individually to each of those groups, just put all
the group names into the To: box of a single message. That way, the message
will show up in each of them, but all the replies will appear in a single
coherent thread. Each reader can see the replies already posted; we can add
to or comment on previous replies, and we won't be duplicating our efforts.
The payoff for you is that you won't have to visit all those newsgroups to
see all the replies.
