cd rom drive

this is probably a DUH question, but ... I have copied
files to a CD -RW and cannot change any information on
the CD ... states "read only" What have I done wrong and
what do I need to do to be able to revise data on the CD?

Greetings --

A CD-RW's data must be read only unless you are using third party packet
writing software. you can still overwrite and add data too the CD. Just
save your documents/files to your hard drive first, then drag and drop them
to the CD-RW. If the file has the same name it will overwrite the existing
one.

Close, but no cigar. If you name the file on the HD the same as one
on the CDRW, then drag/drop it onto the CDRW (assuming you have UDF
software installed), the old file is not "overwritten." The reference
to it is removed in the TOC, then the TOC is updated to indicate the
position of the "new" file. The "old" file is still on the CDRW,
taking up space, invisible and inaccessable, until the disc is erased.
