cd rom doesnt play all cd's

hi my dvd/cd rom plays some music cds but not all. is there some sort
settings i can change to allow me to listen to all music from any cd.
 
A very remote chance that cleaning the CDs will solve the situation.
What application are you using to play DC/DVDs?
If you are using WMP10, set it as your default player so it will play all
formats of your disks. If not, reply to your post due to lack of info.
