CD-ROM desktop shortcut doesn't work

Brent

The desktop shortcut for my CD-ROM doesn't work. I get the error message:

"The item D:\ that this shortcut refers to has been changed
or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly."

I can access the drive just fine from 'My Computer'. I have tried
recreating the shortcut, but to no avail. Can anyone help me out here?

Delete the bad shortcut.
Open "my computer", and use the right mouse button to
drag the drive you need to the desktop. If you get a box
asking you what kind of copy, choose shortcut.

Hi Brent,

Open Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and uninstall the Microsoft
WindowsUpdate hotfix "821557"

This should solve the issue.
