CD-ROM/ Burner not ejecting

Running Windows XP Home. When copying a CD and Burning a
new one using Roxio CD Creator and also with Nero Burner,
after the burning is done, it doesn't seem like the
programs finish up to the point that the CD's will eject
from both the source CD-ROM and the CD Burner in my PC. I
cannot eject either until I re boot the PC and then all
works as normal. I thought it was something with Roxio,
but when it happened using Nero also, I am thinking it may
be a Win XP problem or patch needed.

Straighten a paperclip and poke the straight end in the little hole on the
fascia of the drive.

Yes, the paperclip trick will work to get the disk out, but that doesn't
address the root of the problem. I would try another drive - this may
be a hardware problem.

I am an optimist; I have more faith in others self-discovery and

That's probably because you don't do computer tech support for a living
;-). Actually, I love what I do and I really enjoy helping my clients,
but in reality very few non-geeks want to go on a voyage of discovery
with their pc. They just want to print out the damn greeting card or
get their email.
