CD Rom and CD-RW (both Lite-On) won't work w/windows CDRoms--OK fo music CDs

GREETINGS

I have been stumped and frustrated with this problem....
i have 2 cd drives (one is CDRW) and neither will work as
data or program drives in Windows (i have 2000pro)although
DOS works fine and audio cds work fine.
HELP.
Lite-On LTR 12101B; Lite-On LTN 526S

ps: these hunks of crap have never worked prperly, but i
added wireless keyboard and mouse (microsoft's own) and
since then neither drives work AND my USB ports ceased
functioning as well!!
 
The drives aren't your problem. You need to look elsewhere. Hardware conflicts, errant drivers ...

Once you get your problem sorted out, I think you'll find that the Lite-On drives are actually quite good and reliable devices.
