CD Rewriter and DVD disappeared

My XP Pro installation can detect both of them and
install the correct drivers, but I can't see the drives
in My Computer. This happenned (I think) after I
installed Nero. Everything has been working fine up til
then. I've tried System Restore. I've tried a Repair
Installation to no avail. The message in Device Manager
properties for the drives says the configuration
information in the registry is missing or corrupted. I
can see and use both devices in 2000. I don't have a
backup of the registry. Any ideas on how to get them back
under XP?
