CD-Key Barcodes

Ben

Hi,

I'm currently writing a software asset database. As I don't want to have to
write each cd-key license in by hand I've brought a barcode scanner, that I
want to be able to use to scan in the barcode that is usually below the
cd-key. However when I scan this barcode, rather than getting something like
abc123-xyz45-123ab-45cde I'm just getting a string of 16 numbers.

Does anyone know what barcode type the cd-keys are in? Or am I wrong in
assuming that the barcodes are the cd-keys?

Cheers

Ben

Not sure, we have a MAPS subscription, and with that you get a number of
licenses, i.e. 3 cd keys with visio (each can be used twice). If I scan them
in, the resulting string of numbers is different on each barcode.
