I installed some UPS shipper software from a CD. The installation aborted
before it was finished. Now, when I go to add/remove programs, I see the
icon for the CD, the name of the shipper software, and a file size of 2,374
MB. That's 25% of my harddrive! My available hard-drive space is 125 MB
now. The PC is allocating 2.4 gig for this CD. I've tried to remove it
using add/remove programs and it won't uninstall whatever it is. It will say
"Preparing to install" and then quits. It does the same thing whether or not
the actual CD is in the CD drive or not.
I don't think a 2.4 gig program actually installed. The actual UPS shipper
software eventualy installed and is only a 90 MB program. But, my PC THINKS
there is a 2.4 gig program somewhere. I've searched my hard drive by date
range, and size, and for "UPS" files, and the only files it finds are the
files for the 90 MB program. A UPS tech came out and couldn't figure it out.
UPS now says it's my problem, not theirs. How do I get my 2.4 gigabytes
back?
