CD/DVD ROM pops open

I have no idea how this happenend, but now my drive won't shut. There is no
longer the sound of the CD being read, and the drive pops open immediately
after closing it. If i shut down and then close the drive, immediately on
start up it ejects the cd again. I have tried it with all manner of CDs and
nothing makes a difference.
Thanks for the help!
 
That sounds like a serious hardware issue. If it does this before
Windows loads, it is most likely a device conflict or the drive has gone
bad :(
