That means the drive is working some time ago so think what is changed (like
application installation/uninstallation or hardware change).
Try System Restore.

What do you mean by not working ??
Explorer recognizes the disk or not ?
You heard the disk spinning inside or not ?
The disks are ok or not ?

Do I need to clean the laser?
-------------------------------
Try it, if it solves the problem then great.

You can try a laser cleaning disk but in my experience a dirty laser is very
unusual. It is worth checking that the data cable for the CD drive is
plugged in firmly but the most likely explanation is that the laser unit or
other component in the drive has failed. The only way to be sure is to try
it in another computer and try a new drive in your computer.

Yes, you can try a lens cleaner. Be aware that CD drives do die and need
to be replaced.
