CD drive not detected

Does anyone know why Windows would not detect a CD drive
even when the motherboard detects it.

I tried to do a Windows repair and now I'm stuck because
the setup can't access the Windows CD. It copied the
files it needed from the CD, but now it's acting like it's
not there again.

Best approach for this is to go into device manager, delete it and re-install
it by powering off and back on..Plug and play should find it.
