Hi,
Running XP 32bit with latest upates and latest Bios.
I'm having a problem with the CD Drive (NEC Optiarc AD-7201S 20x Internal
DVDRW SATA). It doesn't register in either the Bios or XP, however if I plug
it into a different sata port on the motherboard it will register for about
10 mins before disappearing again.
The system also constantly shows a non existant CD Drive with the label
TWVMLYZJC12RCX SCSI CdRom Device which if i try to access asks me to insert a
disk.
The Hard Drive (320Gb Samsung HD322HJ F1 SATA) sporadically has a similar
problem, at boot it will say no bootable device however again if I change the
sata port it works fine. Occurs maybe once a month or so.
I have changed between all sata ports numerous times so they would appear to
all be working. I have also needed to re install Xp a couple of times for
un-associated reasons, these problems have occurred through out and therefore
don't lead me to believe they have been caused by a bad copy of an update.
I am grateful for any advice you can provide.
Thanks.
