CD burning

Until recently I had been able to make backups for my Quicken data by using
the standard procedure for copying to CD's us Windows XP Home edition.
However, starting about 3 weeks ago, each time I copy files from my hard
drive to a CD-RW disk they are copied as "Read Only" files and will not open
in my Quicken program or accept overwrites on existing files on the CD-RW
disk. I do not know what has changed.

There's a standard procedure for making CD's? heh

In any case - if you wrote them to CD-R's OR CD-RWs using the built in
writing of Windows XP ever - they would have always been "Read Only" - and
unless you had a third party application (Nero InCD or Roxio are examples)
installed, any computer without those applications installed and running in
the background would see the same thing - Read Only files.

What application (CD Burning) did you have installed that allowed you to
write this way?
