Cd burning has failed to work

I can't get XP to burn to CD. The copying window pops up but nothing happens.
When I cancel the copy window it remains on screen and does not close down.
The only way to stop it is to re boot.

I know my burner is OK because it works with other software with no problem
so it must be a Windows based bug.

This is a new problem and no software has been recently installed that could
conflict.

Can anyone help with ideas/suggestions.

cant you use the restore program and go back a couple of
weeks?........unless its an update of somesort

Did you try going into MyComputer>rt click on Cdrw Icon select
Properties>Recording. Make sure that the box is checked. Enable cd recording
on this drive.

I did check for that type of option when it happened but there isn't one.
It is actually a DVD/CD burner so I don't know if is different for them.
It was working perfectly and I don't recall changing any settings in between
attempts, so I wonder if something has been corrupted somehow.
