I recently installed the Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade to my laptop and
my laptop came with Windows XP on it. I tried to burn a CD the other day and
my computer is acting as if I do not have a CD burner but when I was using my
laptop with Windows XP, I was able to burn CD's all the time. I know my
computer came with a burner but it keeps telling me to install or plug in a
burner and try again. What can I do about this? I would greatley appreciate
any help I can get. Thanks.

Once again you prove you are a idiot who does not know what he is posting
!!...all my software and most of my hardware is at least 3yrs old..some

i dont appreciate you calling me an idiot. This is a new Windows product
smart ass. My cd burner should still be working but Windows Vista sucks and
if I would have known about these problems I would not have wasted my money
on it. So I would like advice from somebody who knows what they are talking
about rather than some computer geek who is just going to call people stupid
for asking simple questions.

Hi jdmcivic.

If you purchased a retail copy of vista and it has been less than 45
days since you have purchased it, you may return it to Microsoft.
Quoted from the MS website:

http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/productrefund/refund.mspx

Microsoft offers a 45 day refund on all there products.

Along with a up to 7.00 for return shipping. The number to call:

1-888-673-8624

This applies to retail items purchased in North America only. If it is
an OEM item, you need to return it for a refund from the OEM you
purchased it from.
