OK, I'm just an amateur here & just got a new Dell computer with a cd/dvd/rw
drive on it. What I'm looking for is just some "free" "simple" program I can
use to transfer family pictures I have on floppies to CD'S cd/rw disc?
Thank you Gimpy

Windows XP built in CD writing program will do it. Just drag and drop
them to the writer in Explorer.

Please look back a couple of days or so to a thread we had on almost
this same subject. Ad another poster wrote, Windows XP can already do
this. I am not comfortable with the method that it uses, however, and
I'm going to purchase software that gives me more confidence. I'm
thinking about buying "outdated" software, however ("almost freeware?",
and almost on-topic).

BurnAtOnce is excellent.

Try Nero.
It's not freeware here.
But it's free where? There! In alt.binaries.warez.

If you are just an "amateur" always look first to Pricelessware:
http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2006/about2006PL.php
when you are looking for a free program to do a certain task.

Other good places to start are: Son of Spy: http://www.sover.net/~wysiwygx/
and John Hood's site: http://www.jhoodsoft.org/

Others here can tell you of more sites.

Hopes this helps.
