cd burner software

Can someone recomend a good free cd burner program for win xp. Free,
easy to use, converts mp3 files to standard cd format, with no unwanted
tracking software attached. I would also like to be able to
edit/equalize output if possible.

CDEX is a great ripper and converter, but it won't burn so I recommend
you purchase a new 52X C D-RW drive that includes Nero OEM burning
software.
[I know you want freebies but it will cost under $60.00 for the
package, surely not too much to pay].

Can I suggest you try to find the following programs for some of your audio
needs?

Audacity is a good editor which can write in MP3 Format with the addition of
a small separate utility (As the author seems to think there's no point in
re-inventing the wheel) and MP3Gain for adjusting (Normalizing) sound
levels.

www.sourceforge.net is a good place to search for these and related
projects.
