CD Burner not working

All of a sudden I can't burn CD's. When I tried I got a message saying that I
don't have a CD Burner, but I most definately do. How do I fix this? My
program said to make sure it was installed properly, but it came
pre-installed and I have no idea how to do that. Please Help!!
