CD buring question

I am burning audio cd's and when I do that, they only play in my car. They do
not play on my home CD player.
What am I doing wrong? I am using CD-R discs on my pc running Win XP sp2
Thanks

What you are doing wrong is playing a CD in a format that your home CD
player cannot understand. You'll need to get a new CD player, one
that can play CD-R discs. Could also be that you are not closing the
last session on the CD-R (which means you can no longer any more files
onto the CD-R disc).

It's just like anything. There's a little computer (a chip) in your CD
player. The newer the cd player the more types of cds it will play, It's
likely that your CD player in your car is newer than the one in your house.
My old CD player in the house wouldn't play home made cds. I bought a little
portable CD player that even plays mp3s. ($29.00 Walmart) gotta "Y" cord
and just hooked it up. Works great! Most DVD players play home made CDs
even CD's with MP3s.
It has nothing to do with the burning process.
