Has anyone heard of the ccCommom program? If so, what is it and what does it
do?

You'll probably find that it's part of a Symantec/Norton product. IIRC, the
cc stands for "common client".

Is it actually spelled like that or did you mistype "ccCommon"? Googling
for the latter indicates that this is a file connected with Norton as
Mr. Keenan has pointed out. Here are some links to Symantec resources
