categorized contact list ==> distribution list

Is there any easy way to move ALL of the contacts of a particular category to
a distribution list without having to enter each name individually in the
"select member" option under create new distribution list?

Why would you want to do that? With a category, you can send a message to
all addresses in that category by selecting it and choosing Actions>New
Message to Contact. No DL needed.
