My Maxtor hard drive Maxline Plus 11 250 GB SATA/ 150 crashed on me and booting the PC (XP Pro) was no longer possible. I replaced it with a new Maxtor 300GB SATA drive; loading all the operating system software and updating to the latest updates which got me running again.
My priority now turned to recovering the crashed drive, but Windows XP can not see the drive.
I used the Maxtor Powermax 4.21 software on the drive which indicated that the hard drive is failing and if I have not backed up the data I should do now.
Now for catch 22, I can't see the drive in windows XP so how do I copy/backup the data?
