hi, i have ATI Radeon 9200 card and when i install catalyst 5.12 drivers
i can't open control center - when i try to access it all i get is
CLI.exe process in task manager, but nothing else, so i'm unable to
configure my graphic properties! first i encountered this problem with
4.11 version of catalyst, and every other version 'til 5.12 - the last
version that works fine is 4.10! can anyone please explain what's
happening and what should i do to solve this??

p.s. i use Win XP Pro SP2 (with all available upgrades) + .NET Framework
1.1 (with SP1) on P4 2.8

thank you very much for any kind of help!

OK, I'm confused, if you are getting drivers from the ATI site, the
latest Catalyst is 5.4?

When I have had problems with ATI drivers, an over-the-top install
of the Catalyst driver, without removing the existing version,
sometimes solves the problem.

5.12 Doesn't exist. ATi numbers their drivers according to the month of
release. So Catalyst 5.12 will be released in December. The most recent
drivers are Catalyst 5.4, with 5.5 probably to be released soon.

My mistake. I'm using the Omega driver 2.6.25A which is based on the
5.4.

There's a new version of the control centre for each new driver release,
isn't there?

The information in this article applies to the following configuration(s):
a.. ATI CATALYST Control Center
b.. Windows XP
c.. Windows 2000
The ATI CATALYST Control Center installation does not check for the
installation of .NET Framework preceding the install. This may result in a
"CLI.exe - Application Error" error message being displayed when attempting
to launch the CATALYST Control Center application.

ATI Engineering has been advised of this issue and is investigating.

A forthcoming release of ATI CATALYST Control Center is expected to perform
a detection of .NET Framework during the installation process. .NET
Framework 1.1 or higher is required for full functionality of ATI CATALYST
Control Center. You may download .NET Framework from:
