Catalyst 4.3 and display rotation...

Just installed the v4.3 Catalyst drivers and have my 21" monitor rotated 90
degrees. This gives me a long, narrow desktop that is pretty good for word
processing and programming. I've noticed a few problems though so I thought
I'd mention them here for folks to comment on (or help debug) and to save
some grief...

- Since the scan lines are now running vertically on the monitor, text can
get out of focus in a different direction that you are used to. This just
takes some time to adjust to. You'll notice this more on lower quality or
older monitors.

- With any mouse pointer theme, except "(none)" the pointer does not get
rotated, but the mask does. This means that the arrow goes the wrong way,
but the dark area underneath is drawn correctly.

- I'm finding that my Taskbar is getting corrupted. I keep the bar docked at
the top of the screen... not sure if that makes a difference.

- Games don't like the "weird" resolutions I have since the screen is
sideways. My desktop is currently 1200x1600. Trying to get Quake to start
can be a hassle. Other stuff doesn't like running full screen either.

- DXDiag doesn't like the display resolutions either, when running the DX7
tests. DX8 and DX9 seem to be OK.

....Definately something worth trying folks... Just looking at the display
this way is enough to make you wonder.

One thing I've been told... Some monitors get screwy colours when turned
sideways. If this happens just turn the monitor off and pull the power cord
for 15 to 20 minutes and leave the monitor sideways. After that, it should
be fine sideways. Do the same thing when you want to put it back the way it
belongs.

Hmm, I never had this problem when rotating my 17" LCD. You are
physically rotating the monitor and not just the screen, right?

Monitor is lying on it's side (it's a CRT) and the drivers are set to rotate
the display 90 degrees.

Hmm, I'm sure the mouse pointer was not backwards last time I used it.
I'm using a crt now though so am not bothering with rotation. The LCD
was designed to be rotated portrait or landscape.
