Cataloguing of photographs

Does anyone know of any freeware Access databases that will enable me to
catalogue my digital photographs in albums and then let me tag each picture
with a short description? Thank you for any help.

You might be interested in the demo file available at:

It uses a simple contacts database for the purposes of showing how
images can be handled in an Access database, but could very easily be
adapted to your purposes. Each 'contact' is the equivalent of an
'album'.

It works by storing the paths to the image files in a text column in
the table and loading the image into a lightweight image control on
demand at runtime. The same image can be assigned to multiple
contacts (albums) if necessary and can be titled. By default the
title is the file name.

I now have a more developed version of the application with an opening
form from which one or more contacts(albums) can be selected for
viewing or editing, and in which a subset of images per contact
(album) can be selected for inclusion in a report. If you are
interested in this version mail me at:

Question for Arvin - When I view the images, they don't fit the frame,
it's as though I am zoomed in on a small part of the photograph. Is there
any way to make the photo fit the frame?

In the property sheet, change the SizeMode from Clip to Zoom.
