Cat 7.1

Cat 7.1 are out !!

What has happened to Omega? His last drivers were 6.9. I have only
just got those to work as it wouldn't open up the extra pipelines on
my 9800SE. In the end I took driver cleaning to the ultimate extremes
so that the 6.9 would work. As it is, the speed difference compared to
a few versions before was exactly zero in 3DMark.

I installed it, and I still have the same old 2d/3d/open gl drivers I had
before that came with the CD.

ATI Radeon X1950 Pro

Driver Packaging Version: 8.33-xxxx new
Catalyst Version: 07.1 new
2D Driver Version: 6.14.xxxxx OLD
Direct 3D Version: 6.14.xxxxx OLD
OpenGL Version: 6.14.xxxxx OLD

Well, when do I get updates to my drivers AMD/ATI????????????????????????

Why don't you install the x1950 drivers? I have a 9800 pro and I install the
regular drivers cause they don't make PRO drivers.

The driver package version 8.33 aka Catalyst version 07.1 has all drivers
for Radeon boards included. When I install this package, it looks at what
card I have installed and installs the correct drivers for that board. The
problem is that this package does not have drivers for the x1950pro so far,
so it just skips the install for the drivers and I end up with a new
Catalyst software but no new drivers.

The x1950 and x1950 pro are completely different GPU's and are not
compatible. That is the problem underneath all this trouble.

Is there something broken with your current drivers?

Over half the bugs fixed/created with every Catalyst release seem to be
interface issues with the Control Center.

The one thing that I am worried about is the flashing going on on my second
monitor when I boot up. Of course, I always want more performance from my
equipment, so I always want improvements to the drivers. I do track the
release notes to see what is being improved, and would like to take
advantage of those improvements as they come along.

As far as any major problems, - no, everything is OK, I just want the best I
can get from my investment. Wow - the ccc has that many issues? I guess I
am glad at least I am getting those updates. (I think.)

Thanks First, for taking an interest.

I was just thinking how wonderful life was, when "First of One"
Over half the bugs fixed/created with every Catalyst release seem to be
interface issues with the Control Center.

One of the reasons why I always download the latest drivers with the
(old) control panel.
