I've never tried it myself, but I've heard from others that the
old Windows 3.x cardfile program works in Windows XP. It's
probably worth giving it a try.
The old card file program is not included in XP but it will run in XP. I
still use it.
Copy at least cardfile.exe to a folder (copy the Help file as well if you
need it). Copy your *.CRD files. Double click on a *.CRD file and use the
windows that appears to select cardfile.exe as the default application for
this file type.
XP will give .CRD files a crummy icon (the basic generic file icon). Use
Folder Options> File Types to change this. Scroll down to the newly added
CRD file extension. Click Advanced and use the Change Icon button. Select
cardfile.exe as the source for the icon. Click the picture that you want to
use for CRD files. OK your way back to the desktop.
Or download and install one of the updated card file programs that can
handle *.CRD files as someone else mentioned earlier in this thread.
