Capturing Video on Media Center HP

Okay..I've read and read and still not sure whether or not I am able to
transfer vhs tapes to my computer without a lot of other "stuff". As you can
tell this is all new to me! I recently bought a new Hp Media Center comp
a1523w. I have WMM2, Sonic MyDVD Plus, and Muvee Producer 6 installed. What I
need to know is do I still need to buy some type of capture card, box, ect.
in order to plug the vcr directly into the comp. Some articles talk like you
can just plug directly into the back of the comp with the video s-cable,
while others say you need a capture card, or box like Dazzle. I just need a
straigtforward answer...what do I need?

First...here's a link to a 10 page article that may
be useful:

If your main goal is to make DVD copies
of your VHS home movies...you don't need
a computer. A DVD Recorder may be worth
a look.

I had Dazzle and I don't recommend it, it's crap. After about 2-3
weeks in trying to get it working smoothly, I trashed it. Instead I
grabbed a "MSI - TV Anywhere" card and have been using it for 4
years without any problems. Supports co-ax, s-video and rca inputs.
It might be an overkill if you only want to capture VHS but if you
want to cap some tv programs or record something over the net, then
it's well worth every penny. (Around $80)
